More Practice!

What with going to work,  trying to finish bits of needlework I have started, and just regular everyday responsibilities, I never seem to get enough time to paint. However my new year resolution has been to paint a little bit everyday if I can. That one has already been broken as I don't seem to be able to do a painting everyday, but certainly some amount of regular painting is happening.

  1. Even a little painting is something to keep your hand in - really like the last painting here with the shading.

  2. Brinda, you call these paintings practice--but really that's all we artists do everyday when we pick up our brush to do a "quicky" or something more time consuming. "Practice" undermines these gems. They are absolutely lovely. I love your brush work in the top one; the subject matter in the second; the play of light and shadow in the third.

  3. I really love the last one, light and shadows are those elements, which make a painting "alive". Well done!

  4. I am thinking a lot of what you have written L.W. Roth. Maybe practice is not the right word, it removes the spirit from my art and reduces it to just technique! Thanks for that!
