This is from a picture Viveck took on his Nanda Devi trek a couple of years ago. After a long time I am really delighted with a painting I have done. It started off as a bit of a disaster, as I had painted the Mountains in the background and the very blue sky a little too bright. So in sheer disgust I took the hand shower and washed it all off...what remained was this really pale background, so once the paper dried, I finished the painting. I have used only washes of pale shades!
I have pray flags hanging in my yard. This is a lovely reminder of photo i've seen in Tibet.
ReplyDeleteYes they are Melanie...all over the Himalayas, there are places of worship and the prayer flags form an integral part of that. Thanks for looking.
ReplyDeleteStunning. I think I can hear them ringing... :) and the splashes of color really "pop" this piece. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a line from the film "A Wonderful Life": "Every time a bell rings, an angel get it's wings..."
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting; thanks for bringing me back into that memory!!
Blessings!!
